I am shooting 5.4MeV Alphas at G4_Teflon (C2F4) with PIXE enabled and looking for the characteristic x-ray emissions from the Carbon and Fluorine. I can clearly see Carbon (~283eV), but am not getting any Fluorine (~697eV).

I have used both the default fluor and the fluor_XDB_EADL datasets.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Hi, could you please try to use the ANSTO data libraries? you can see how to switch them on in TestEm4

Hi Susanna,

Thanks for the hint. I do see some references to ANSTO in the extended electromagnetic examples TestEm5 with Geant4-11.1.0. I will give it a try.

I was able to cobble something together from testem5 and now get what look like both carbon and teflon x-rays coming from the model_gammaPIXE … which is progress.

But I don’t seem to be getting any of the x-rays anymore from the eBrem process, which I was getting before, albeit in small amounts … Oh well.

I just needed to lower the setCuts for the model_Bremsstrahlung photons to start showing up again.
