Dear Geant4 experts,
from G4-10.6 to G4-10.7 there was a change in the JAEA elastic scattering dataset format which is delivered with G4EMLOW. In G4-10.6, using G4EMLOW7.9.1, the dataset was still in an ascii format with the cross section given in barn/sr. Starting in G4-10.7, using G4EMLOW7.13, and which is also present in G4-11.3.2, using G4EMLOW8.6.1, the format has been switched to binary and amplitudes are given. (datasets can be downloaded from Download Geant4-11.3.2 - Geant4)
However, the corresponding README has not been updated. Does anyone know what the unit for the amplitude is in the JAEA dataset?
Also, the README still says that “Each file is 183 columns * 300 rows”, which was true for the cross sections, but it seems that the amplitude files are formatted differently.
It would be really helpful if this README could be updated to describe the new file format.
Best regards,
Birgit
