Is 10.6-patch02 the same as v10.6.2 (as in github)?
I built with v10.6.2 (checkout tag from the repo) but I got compilation error during make
should I install v10.6.0 in the first place ?

Yes, those are different names for the same release.
It is recommended to install the latest version when you want to report errors while compiling.
