Optical photons not detected when REFLECTIVITY for the skin material is defined

Dear All,

I am simulating a beam of optical photons directly impinging on the detector situated inside of the box (filled with air). The skin material of the box is defined using UNIFIED model of Optical Surfaces (groundfrontpainted). Whenever REFLECTIVITY is defined (to any value) for this skin material, no optical photons are being detected.
Geant4 10.01. is used.

Could you please advise me what can cause the problem?
Thank you in advance!

Best regards,
Zuzana

  • Do you have EFFICIENCY defined?
  • What does happen to the photons? Are they simply absorbed?
  • Try to run extended example OpNovice2, modifying boundary.mac to match your parameters. What does it print out at the end?
