Simulation of Smith-Purcell radiation


I trying to build an outreach experiment to observe Smith-Purcell (SP) radiation using a diffraction grating at a high-energy electron beam. I wanted to simulate the experiment with its backgrounds, mainly Cherenkov (CR) and transition radiation (TR).

While CR and TR are well simulated within Geant4, I couldn’t find any mention of Smith-Purcell radiation on the G4 documentation or forum. I have doubts that SP would be simulated due to its production mechanism (beam flying close to a periodic dielectric surface, inducing surface currents and thus generating radiation) which is quite different from usual particle-matter interaction, but I still would like to ask if anyone ever tried this (in a more or less complete form)?
