Time measurements for radioactive decays

I have some long lived isotopes in my simulation, (Li 8, lifetime of about 1 second) which beta decays and emits electrons. While I see some events, I want to make sure that my simulation is sufficiently long to see all relevant decays, and if not, I want to extend this integration time. What would I do to do this?

Geant4 is not a time-based simulation. If you have an Li-8 ion in your event, then it will decay. You’ll see the daughters created with their own timestamps corresponding to the Li-8 half life (thrown randomly, of course).

If you have an Li-8 in every event, but you’re not seeing all the decays, then there’s something else going on. Perhaps you have a time limit enabled, such that “late” secondaries are suppressed?
