Three macros for the Hadr04 example. They fire 2000 neutrons of 25 meV into a 3 m cube of G4_lAr. Build Hadr04 as usual: cmake (g4 install folder)/share/Geant4/examples/extended/hadronic/Hadr04 make -j Then run each macro once per neutron library, pointing G4NEUTRONHPDATA at the library you want to test: ./Hadr04 mac_lar_skip_false.txt ./Hadr04 mac_lar_skip_true.txt G4NEUTRONHPDATA=/path/to/G4NDL4.7 ./Hadr04 mac_lar_skip_false.txt G4NEUTRONHPDATA=/path/to/ENDF-VIII.0 ./Hadr04 mac_lar_skip_false.txt G4NDL 4.7 comes from https://cern.ch/geant4-data/datasets/G4NDL.4.7.tar.gz and ENDF/B-VIII.0 from https://nds.iaea.org/geant4/libraries/ENDF-VIII.0.tar.gz . The IAEA libraries need four folders copied in from a full G4NDL distribution before Geant4 can use them; their own README says which. Read the counts off the "List of generated particles" block at the end of the run. With Geant4 11.3.2 and G4NDL 4.7.1 I get: library skip Ar-41 Ar-39 Ar-37 S-33 Cl-36 G4NDL 4.7.1 true 163 78 3 1691 65 G4NDL 4.7.1 false 163 78 3 1691 65 G4NDL 4.7 true 1921 2 57 0 0 G4NDL 4.7 false 1921 2 57 0 0 ENDF/B-VIII.0 true 1902 2 50 0 0 ENDF/B-VIII.0 false 1901 2 50 0 0 With 4.7.1 the run also prints six lines of the form NeutronHP: /Capture file for Z = 18, A = 38 is not found and NeutronHP will use .../G4NDL4.7.1/Capture/CrossSection/18_39_Argon for Capture, Elastic and Inelastic of both Ar-36 and Ar-38.
