Some years ago I read that a envelope (like the one in example B1) is included to do “Fast simulation” and also to do parameterizations, Is this true?; What does it mean “Fast simulation”?; What does it mean parameterizations?

I think you’re all overthinking this. It just a simple example, about as simple as it can be.
If I recall, the geometry is a simplistic human body. The “Envelope” is the body and the shapes are two internal organs. In particular, it demonstrates geometry hierarchy - the organs are represented by daughters of the “Envelope”, and as such their material displaces the material of the Envelope.
