Can't Find Geant4 Built-In Commands Documentation

I have been looking at the Geant4 documentation found here:
https://geant4.web.cern.ch/docs/

Specifically I have been reading the “Book for Application Developers” and have been looking at a few of the Geant4 examples. Many of the examples employ macro files or an interactive session, both of which use built-in commands. However, the section on Built-In Commands in the “Book for Application Developers” (7.1) provides only a couple sentences of very limited information (quoted below):

The following is a short summary of available commands. You can also see the all available commands by executing ‘help’ in your UI session.
• List of built-in commands

where “List of built-in commands” is a hyperlink to a “404 - not found” page (https://geant4-userdoc.web.cern.ch/UsersGuides/ForApplicationDeveloper/fo/AllResources/Control/UIcommands/_.html).

Typing ‘help’ during an interactive session is only of limited help since it doesn’t list “/gun” which is used by every example I’ve looked at so far.

Searching the Combined Web Guides for Geant4 for “built-in comands” has not been fruitful either. The only “useful” search hit is the short section (7.1) in the “Book for Application Developers” that I’ve already looked at.

I’m wondering if anyone can point me to the current documentation for built-in commands. Thanks in advance! I apologize ahead of time if the documentation is in an obvious place and I’ve somehow missed it!

Thanks!

Hello ackuhlma,

It appears that the link in the PDF version of the Book For Application Developers in section 7.1 is invalid for me too.

You can access the HTML version of it, here is the equivalent section for 7.1:
https://geant4-userdoc.web.cern.ch/UsersGuides/ForApplicationDeveloper/html/Control/commands.html

On that page, there is a link to the List of built-in commands (including /gun commands):
https://geant4-userdoc.web.cern.ch/UsersGuides/ForApplicationDeveloper/html/Control/AllResources/Control/UIcommands/_.html

Hopefully this is what you were looking for.

Thanks,
James

Hi James,
That is what I was looking for! Thanks so much!
