Hi everyone,
I am working on a data‑driven method that estimates the effective detector timing jitter directly from event‑level detector times.
The method identifies the dominant time scale encoded in the timing distribution and reconstructs the corresponding survival‑curve shape.
I would like to validate this method by comparing its jitter estimates with timing distributions obtained from Geant4 simulations and from real experimental data.
My question is:
What is the recommended way to perform timing‑related validation in Geant4 when real detector data is available?
(For example: how to extract comparable timing distributions, what quantities to use, or whether there are established workflows for such validation.)
Here is the DOI of the method description (open access):
Thank you for any guidance.
