I’m relatively new to Geant4 and I am trying to model a simple scintillator detector (NaI) in a radioactive gas. I want to model the full radioactive decay for an isotope (eg Xe135) and track the emitted particles, for a gas uniformly surrounding the scintillator (ie a volume source), and then histogram deposited energy in the scintillator.
I think I can achieve this using the G4GeneralParticleSource and the /gps/pos/confine macro to confine it to a specific cell in the geometry. However, being relatively new to Geant4 it isn’t entirely obvious to me.
Are there any simple examples of such a model which I could use as a starting point?
