How to define energy spectrum of input particle

Dear all,
I saw from the book for application that geant4 can define energy spetrum using built-in function or user defined one. But how to can make it ? There is any example for defining energy spectrum? For example, I want a energy spectrum in the form as exponential function plus gauss function.
