I’m using G4 10.7.p04 for our simulation framework, but this applies to the latest G4 11 releases. I ran across the macro commands /profiler/..., and would be interested in trying to use them to get useful information (see Does anybody still use IgProf? Is it MT-compatible?). I’d like to know what, if anything, I need to modify in our framework to make use of them in our own code.
Unfortunately, the G4Profiler developer/maintainer has now left and the functionality was never fully completed/tested/documented. For that reason it’s actually been removed since 11.3.
If there’s interest/demand for a some level of builtin profiling, then we could revive the work as there are similar (but potentially better) implementations in an R&D project. However, it would need a clear use case and input as a User Requirements, and then effort to be found through a contribution and/or within the collaboration.
