Dear Geant4 users
I am working on the simulation of a large scale radioactive source contaminated by NORM ( soil contamination). THe challenge here is to reduce the time of calculation with a high accuracy.
I am asking if there is a properites in Geant4 that could help in that matter, as for PHITS we have
a Tally type named “T-point” in PHITS, which is designed for dealing with the situation when the source area is great larger than the detection area.
Thank you very much

Dear @asmae_ettoufi
Thank you for your question.
The General Particle Source and the Radioactive Decay modules provide their own biasing methods [1,2], but I’m not sure if these are exactly what you’re looking for. Could you please confirm whether your goal is to simulate secondaries from radioactive decay within a specific solid angle corresponding to your detector’s acceptance?
Best,
Alvaro
