Dear community,
I am using Geant4 to simulate the interaction of N4+ ions with SiC wafer for an ion implantation application. My goal is to accurately study the emitted neutrons and gammas due to the interaction of the beam with the target, but also to study the activation related to the interaction of Nitrogen with Carbon (production of Na22, Na24 and F18).
Several questions:
-
For now I am using g4QGSP_BIC_HP_EMZ, which includes the binary cascad physics list for ion/ion interactions. But when I compare the results with the “Ion_elastic_qmd” physics list, the results are completely different, with a factor of 100 in terms of ambient dose between both physics lists. Any advice on which geant4 physics list is suitable for this specific application?

For the activation, I see nothing in the simulations even when I launch up to 1e9 particles, but I am sure that there are nuclear reactions that create F18 (with 2 alphas), Na22 (with 1 alpha) and Na24 (with 2 protons), and I would really like to score those nuclei. Any adivce on how to proceed?
See below several information about my Geant4 installation platform:
_Geant4 Version: 11.2
_Operating System: Sequioa (Mac OS)
_Compiler/Version: appleClang 16.0.0
_CMake Version: 3.31
