Protons on Fluorine don't create gammas seen in experiment

Hi all,

I’ve been trying to run a simulation where I try to excite Fluorine atoms with low energy protons (2-4MeV) and look at the contribution of the 109KeV and 197KeV excited states to the energy spectrum.

From experiments I know the lines should exist at these energies, but from simulation I can’t get them to show up.
What I’ve done so far:

  • Artificially increased density to 100x to improve cross section
  • Checked most physics lists, and with each the different EM options (e.g. the _EMV, _EMZ extensions of the physics lists)
  • Updated the G4ParticleXS data to the newest version, but that did not make a difference.
  • Checked with neutrons of similar energy: the 109 and 197KeV gammas are created.

Does anyone have an idea why I can’t seem to create the gammas I’m looking for?

Thanks in advance!
