Question about Beams

Hello dear experts!

I read the documentation listed in GeneralParticleSource and I also saw the examples in extended/eventgenerator/particlegun. I noticed that in order to reproduce a beam of let’s say 10000 particles, they configured the beam and used /run/beamOn 10000, i.e, they simulated 10000 events. Is it equivalent a beam of 10000 particles per spill in real life to 10000 events in Geant4 or I misunderstood something?

Thanks in advance!

Yes !

From the experimental point of view you have MU (Monitor Unit), a unit that helps to know how many particles delivered from machine (accelerator). In general, it is an amount of radiation units.
Say, in 1 MU machine delivered 10000 particles, then this number can be considered as same # of particles or events in Geant4 for simulations within some # of uncertainty.
