Question about Elastic scattering of GenericIon In QGSP_BIC (10.2.p3)

Dear expert,

I am using the reference physics list, QGSP_BIC, to simulate carbon interacting with water.
The version is 10.2.p3.
I post the message about the physics list as follows.
I found the elastic scattering for GenericIon(Z>2, heavy-ion) is not taken into account.

Would you mind explaining why we do not need to consider it?

Hello,

hadron elastic scattering for ions was introduced in recent Geant4 releases. You may try out 10.6p02 or 10.7beta.

The reason, why it was introduced slowly: electromagnetic scattering dominates over hadronic, so it was never urgent.
