Root Histograms in Geant4 Virtual machine

Hello dear Geant4 users.
I’m a student, new to Geant4. In order to learn how to use it, I have installed the VM available in: Find out more – Geant4 Virtual Machine
It is suppose to have ROOT installed,
I’m trying to add histograms to my simulations, to learn how to do it I’ve been using the examples AnaEx01, AnaEx02 and rdecay02. However, once running this examples I’m not able to visualise the histograms generated, what should I do?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hello,

You can open the ROOT file in ROOT. If ROOT is installed, then you can type (in terminal):
root

and then, on the ROOT prompt:
TBrowser b;

This will open the ROOT browser window where you can double-click on the file generated in Geant4 simulation and then double-click on your histograms. If you need more help, please, see the ROOT documentation.

Best regards,
