SiC Neutron detector

Hi guys, I am trying to build a neutron detector from example B2a. The detector consists of a 10B layer and a SiC layer, and is placed in the air. I am using a 10MeV neutrons particle gun. For the physics list I am using QGSP_BERT_HP. When I use /run/beamOn, almost all particles pass directly through the detector without reacting with it. The same thing happened when I replace the 10B layer with 6LiF layer. What’s wrong in my code?

If you run example Hadr03 (macro and printout in attachment), you will see that the nuclear interaction length (aka mean free path) of neutron (10 MeV) in Boron 10 is about 4.6 cm.
What is the thickness of your 10B layer ?
