Hi. What types of radioactive decay can be simulated in Geant4?. Thanks

What does the documentation say? Besides the Geant4 Application Developers Guide, The Geant4 Physics Reference Manual may be of some guidance.
Hi. thanks for your reply. So, I’m going to take a look at the Geant4 Application Developers Guide and the Geant4 Physics Reference Manual.
Hi. After reading the Geant4 Application Developers Guide and the Geant4 Physics Reference Manual, my opinion is the following: In the Geant4 Physics Reference Manual there is a chapter that mentions Decay, it´s the Chapter 4. The Chapter 4 mentions that the decay of particles in flight and at rest is simulated by the G4Decay class. The following classes are mentioned in that chapter:
4.2.1 G4PhaseSpaceDecayChannel
4.2.2 G4DalitzDecayChannel
4.2.3 Muon Decay
4.2.4 Leptonic Tau Decay
4.2.5 Kaon Decay
On the other hand, in Chapter 40 (Radioactive Decay) of the Geant4 Physics Reference Manual, the following types of radioactive decay are mentioned: Alpha Decay, Beta Decay and Electron Capture. The Geant4 Physics Reference Manual mentions that G4RadioactiveDecay and associated classes are used to simulate the decay, either in-flight or at rest, of radioactive nuclei by Alpha, Beta-minus and Beta-plus emission and by Electron capture.
So, the conclusion would be that there are 4 types of radioactive decay (Alpha decay, Beta-minus decay, Beta-plus decay and Electron capture) that Geant4 can simulate, right?. Another question, and related to the topic, Can Geant4 simulate the radioactive decay known as spontaneous fission?. Thanks
Did you see the Hadronic Physics section of the documentation you were reading? That might help you answer your own question.
Hi. Yes, I did see the Hadronic Physics section, but it is only now that I realize there is a subsection called Fission model (Chapter 29 of the Geant4 Physics Reference Manual); so, I´m going to read that subsection. What I don´t know is whether this subsection talks about nulcear fission or spontaneous fission.
On the other hand, I´ve read a topic in the Geant4 forum related to my previous question; the topic is “Spontaneous fission in GEANT4“, it was created in 2019. In that topic it is said that spontaneous fission was not available until the 10.6 release; So, the answer to my previous question I think would be yes. Thanks
